Chapter 4 – Deep discoveries
_______________________________

This morning, after breakfast you went to the library along with Arthur, Francis and Matthew. You waved at Elizaveta as she and the german brothers headed for the end of the corridor while Roderich entered the music room. Soon enough the soft sound of a piano echoed through this part of the manor.

"Zhat's a huge place..." Francis whistled.

"I guess a mansion of that size must have a library like that." the quiet Canadian pointed.

The four of you began to walk through the vast alleys of bookshelves.

You found some interesting old books and decided to sat in one of the armchair that was placed in the center or the room, enabling you to see through each alley and towards the open door of the library. Wait, open door? But we did close it when we entered, right? Yeah, you remembered... Being the last to enter the place you softly closed the door behind you. You quickly checked the alleys with a glance. No, everyone is here. They didn't moove... A light thud snapped you out of your thoughts, you saw Arthur bending down to pick up the book he dropped, his hand slightly shaking. But as you decided to go to him a shout burst from the back of the room.

"Hey! Everyone, come see what I found!"

"What is it?" Matthew was the nearest, quickly followed by you and then Arthur.

"Looks like a door to me..." Arthur pointed.

"No shit Sherlock." Francis aswered, putting a face at the Englishman. You heard Arthur mumbling something that sounded like "Fuck you Watson." before focusing your mind on the wooden door in front of the four of you.

"So, what's behind this?" You asked.

"Unfortunately ma chérie, we can't open it, it's locked." Francis shrugged.

"So what's the point showi..." Arthur stopped in the middle of his sentence, his eyes widening as he looked towards the entrance door of the library.

"Wh-what's wrong Arthur?" You knew too well that look on his face. He didn't respond for a while, just looking in front of him and nodding his head.

"We have to go out of the library, we need to go check on Elizaveta, Gilbert and Ludwig..." His voice was slightly shaking. "It might already be too late, how did I not see that coming..." He rushed to the door, Francis, Matthew and you had no choice but to follow him, wondering what he meant by 'too late'.

==Time Skip==

The corridor seemed cold as you followed the three men.

"What could be too late Arthur?" you panted. He slowed down a bit and turned to face you. He looked at the two men and then at you and sighed.

"You know when we were in front of that door in the library? Well that ghost girl I was afraid of when we arrived... She... She talked to me."

"She... talked to you? What did she said?" You ignored the puzzled looks on the Frenchman and the Canadian's faces, they would understand by themselves.

"She's trapped here, and we will be as well if the things dowstairs are discovered..." He was trying hard to stay calm, you could tell that by seeing his fists tightly clenched. Suddenly Matthew's soft voice raised.

"It's already that dark outside? My watch is showing only 1 PM..." You all glanced to the only window in the corridor.

"We really need to go downstairs..." Arthur motionned you and the others to move. You finally reached the stairs, only to see the door open. You heard the Englishman cursing in his breath.

"_____, stay here. Matthew, please stay with her." And with that he went through the door, along with Francis.

"Maybe we should go back to the others, right?" Matthew asked, a bit of uncertainty in his voice.

"Hum, yeah I guess." You didn't want to believe anything could be dangerous here and seeing the others would probably help getting this strange feeling out of your mind.

The Canadian and you made your way to the two doors separating the corridor from the rest of the house. Matthew put his hand on the doorknob and twisted it.

"What's wrong Matty?" he was struggling with the knob.

"It, it won't open..." He looked surprised for a moment, but soon frowned. "Alfred, if this is a new kind of jokes, I really don't appreciate it!" You could notice annoyance in his voice.

You both waited a couple of minutes, but no answer could be heard.

"If it was Al's doing, I think he would have open now... Or at least he would have laughed at us and teased us... We should report this to Arthur and Francis and maybe Elizaveta still have the key to open those doors." Matthew only nodded at your suggestion and thus you went back to the stairs, carrefuly going down.

As you reached the end of the stairs you were welcomed by another corridor bathed in a dull white-blue light, leading to an only door, slightly open. No sound, no voice, but you knew Francis and Arthur were there, you ran to the door and flung it open.

"NO _____ ! Don't look!"

Too late. Before you knew it you were screaming like mad and shaking uncontrolably.
Ahah! Finally. Sorry for making you wait. I finally finished with my exams so I'm back on course and we will reach the interesting part of the story (well, it's what I want to think ^^)

Please tell me if you liked it, or else and if you found any mistakes ;)
