Loud - Leonard McCoyxReader

-------------------------------------

You let a muffled groan erupt from your blanket-covered form, it was already midnight and you just couldn't sleep. Not that you didn't want to, quite the opposite in fact, you had a lab to run in the morning and the perspective of doing so without a good night sleep wasn't appealing in the slightest. All you wanted right now was to close your eyes and escape the buzzing hive that was the Enterprise.

Unfortunately, the noise coming from your neighbour's quarters prevented you from fulfilling that simple wish. You could discern two voices arguing in Spock's room, you knew the first officer didn't rest that much and usually filled paperwork until some late hour or just quietly meditated but he wasn't one to receive company at night.

“I certainly won't, Captain.”

“Come on Spock! Don't make me order you...” The second voice, that you know were sure belonged to James T. Kirk, Captain of the USS Enterprise, chimed with a tone half-threatening and half-joking.

You pushed your blanket off your body and huffed in anger.

“I swear if he's still on about that shore leave deal I'll have Bones give him that Andorian shingles thing, I bet he would be more than delighted to do so.” You said to yourself, carefully approching the wall so you could have a chance to get a confirmation to your suspicion.

“I don't see the point of shore leave, Sir.”

You took a deep breath and before you had a chance to hear Kirk's response you grabed pair of heels and forcefully threw them at the wall that separated you from your two superior officers and crawled back to bed. Your knew your little tantrum had the intended effect when you heard Spock's sliding door opening.

“We'll discuss that again tomorrow night Spock, I'm not letting you win on this one.”

And with that Kirk was out, you were finally able to rest for what was left of your night, but not without thinking about a way of getting those two back.

Unsurprisingly, waking up the next morning was a hard task. You slowly made your way to the lab, dropping by the sickbay on your way.

“Hello Christine! Hey Bones, good morning.” The nurse gave you a smile and a small 'Hi' in return, the doctor, however, merely grunted in acknowledgment of your presence, too focused on his monitor for the moment to offer a proper greeting. You just waited for him to look up.

“Good morning (Name), you look exhausted, is everything alright?” He eyed you suspiciously. Time for you to get to phase one of your plan.

“Yeah don't worry, I just wanted to say hello and ask if you could meet me at my quarters tonight, say... around 11 PM?” You offered him your best smile, only making him narrow his eyes at you.

“Can do. Was that all you wanted to ask?”

“No, actually I also wanted to know if I could borrow a bed to take a nap?” His brows shot up at your request be fore settling into a frown, annoyance flashing in his eyes.

“Are ya serious? It's a sickbay here, ts'not called 'napbay' for a reason. Now get back to work, before I decide to hypo you out of here!”

You giggled at his reaction and quickly kissed him on the cheek before bolting out of the room with a 'See you tonight'. At least you tried, but one could never be sure he wouldn't put his threats to execution someday.

The day passed rather quickly, you didn't hear from the bridge, which was a good sign. You just had to fill some forms and you'd be good to go. Ten minutes later you were waiting for McCoy to knock at your door. At 10:30 PM you heard Kirk ringing at Spock's door, without a doubt in order to try convincing him to go on shore leave with him for once. A knock was heard on your door at 11 PM sharp, you skipped over to push the button, revealing the ship's CMO standing in front of you, one eyebrow raised and his arms crossed upon his blue clad chest.

“So, ya wanted to see me?” His look softened a little when you smiled mischieviously at him, mimicking his stance.

“I need you to achieve a revenge.”

“On who, and for what?” Suspicion made its return on his traits, but you could see he was interested anyway.

“Our dear Captain and first Officer, for preventing me from sleeping correctly last night because of Kirk's stubbornness on the shore leave subject.”

“Alright, I'm in, watcha want me to do?” a devious smile grew on his face, making the creases around his eyes visible, his arms no longer crossed as he leaned closer to you.

You grabbed his shirt and led him inside your room, the door sliding shut with a soft 'swish' sound. His hands had found their way on your waist to prevent himself from falling forwards. You lifted your head to meet his eyes as you gave him a toothy grin.

“Do whatever you want, but make it loud.”

“Anythin' for ya, darlin'...”
Well, my neighbour prevented me from sleeping my fill recently... And this popped into my mind, so I decided to give Star Trek's fandom a try. ^^

You can imagine it for any McCoy, the original or the new, whatever floats your boat. ^^

If you find a typo, don't hesitate to tell me, and feedback is always appreciated. :)
